Environmental Specialist

Completed a woodstove changeout project and studying wood smoke IAQ. Maintenance and oversight of the air quality and other toxics environmental programs.  Disseminate information and serve as a resource to the tribe in environmental regulations, programs, and concerns. Assist the environmental department in fulfilling other environmental media program grant objectives. Supervised quality and color technicians. Assured product quality conformance and  resolved all quality issues in a timely manner. Led color-matching activities and planned production masterbatches. Wrote and studied effectiveness of action plans for all customer complaints. Identified common quality issues and started a preventive action plan to be more proactive to product nonconformity. Responded to and corrected audits to the quality system for ISO compliance. Prior to the managerial promotion, worked in production, product quality, and product development.

Production Color Coordinator

Matched colors for potential sales. Completed masterbatches for production orders.  Provided pigment usage projection to insure supply of pigment. Reported status of batch and advised on pigment letdowns. Scheduled day-to-day development, compound and pilot line maintenance tasks.  Assisted color and quality technicians when needed. Goals included working towards ISO compliance, gaining customer’s approval, and earning market’s recognition for department’s ability to match and produce quality colored fiber.

Color Technician

Prepared colored polyester fiber sample trials. Blended, pelletized, spun, drawn, carded and needled trials into felts. Evaluated colors and made adjustments. Maintained records and archived samples. Repaired and maintained pilot line equipment. Prepared submittals and filed reports. Improved trial techniques to reduce development time.

Quality Technician

Inspected raw and finished goods for product quality. Studied and evaluated process to correct quality issues. Maintained quality records. Developed relationship between process conditions and quality problems to benefit production and reduce correction time.

Production Worker

Primarily worked on the drawline and bailer. Drawn spun polyester tow. Bailed cut polyester staple. Graded and logged all bales. Improved detector to reduce number of fusion collected in baled staple. Gained experience in disassembling packs used to filter and gauge extruded polyester. Cleaned pack parts and re-assembled. Maintained equipment and solvents.
